Remedial Massage Therapy
At take2health, our Remedial Massage Therapists are fully qualified and experienced professionals. Remedial massage uses many techniques including soft tissue massage, pressure points and lymphatic drainage. Our therapists work collaboratively with our Osteopaths and Myotherapists to achieve quality results for our patients.
Our massage therapy treatment rooms are warm and comfortable, providing the perfect environment for you to relax and reap the full benefit of your consultation with one of our skilled massage therapists.
Initial massage consultations at take2health involve your therapist taking a detailed case history, followed by clinical examination and thorough treatment. Your therapist will always explain to you what they believe to be causing your pain/ condition as well as a treatment plan to fully address your presenting condition. Our massage consultations are as individual and varied as our clients.
For clients who are new to Remedial Massage therapy at take2health, we recommend you book a 1 hour consultation to allow your therapist adequate time to take a complete history and comprehensive treatment. To experience a Remedial Massage at take2health, contact us now.
At take2health we offer a range of treatments for pregnant women, including pregnancy massage. Remedial massage is suitable for women at any stage of their pregnancy. Our therapists are experienced and trained to treat pregnant women. Treatment may assist in reducing the aches and pains of pregnancy and help to reduce swelling of the hands and feet often associated with pregnancy. For those in the later stages of their pregnancy we have a pregnancy specific massage pillow so that you can comfortably lie on your stomach, if you wish.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my private health?
Most private health funds will cover a portion of your remedial massage therapy, should you have ‘extras’ or ancillary benefits. We have HICAPS facilities available for on the spot claims so you need only pay the gap.
How long is a massage consultation?
Your massage consultation may be booked for 1 hour or 45minutes. Simply ask reception for which of these times you would like when you book your appointment. We recommend a 1hour consultation for all new clients.
We understand that life is busy, and situations sometimes arise. As with all services at take2health, we ask that you please give a minimum of 24hours notice to cancel or reschedule your Remedial Massage appointment. Less than 24 hours notice will result in a cancellation fee being charged.
In order to get the most out of your treatment time, we recommend you arrive 5minutes early. As we often have appointments booked back to back, unfortunately if you are late, you will only be able to have your treatment for the remaining allocated treatment time.
What do I need to bring?
If you have any recent tests or x-rays it would be helpful for you to bring copies of these for your therapist.
